Players of all ages and skill levels competed in five rounds of Swiss-style rapid chess upstairs at Durham Food Hall. Subhash KV took first place and the tournament trophy after an exciting afternoon of close games, time pressure, and more than a little chaos.

Players competed in one open section over seven rounds of fast-paced blitz chess at Parts and Labor in downtown Durham. With only five minutes and a three-second increment per player, the tournament produced plenty of sharp positions, time scrambles, and dramatic finishes. Eli Gertler emerged as the tournament winner.
